Durco, Others Slapped With $38M Jury Verdict In Asbestos Suit

Law360, New York (September 17, 2013, 8:23 PM EDT) -- A South Carolina jury hit Durco International and two other companies with a $38 million verdict last week in a lawsuit brought by a man who allegedly contracted a rare form of testicular cancer after he was exposed to asbestos.

Plaintiff Lloyd Strom Garvin won $10 million in actual damages from defendants Durco, Crane Co. and Byron Jackson Pump Co. in a Sept. 11 verdict. His wife Velda won $1 million for loss of consortium, according to an attorney for Crane, Terry Budd of K&L Gates...
