Pa. Clerk To Appeal Order Halting Gay Marriage Licenses

Law360, Philadelphia (September 18, 2013, 1:54 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania county official said Tuesday that he would appeal to the state’s Supreme Court an order halting him from issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples, days after a judge said that it was not his role to rule on the constitutionality of the state’s law preventing the marriages.

Montgomery County Solicitor Ray McGarry, on behalf of County Register of Wills D. Bruce Hanes, announced that he would file the appeal challenging the ruling of Commonwealth Court Judge Dan Pellegrini within the next several days....
