Pa. Justices OK Axing County Jury Commissioner Posts

Law360, Philadelphia (September 18, 2013, 2:55 PM EDT) -- A split Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld a decision finding that the state’s General Assembly had constitutional authority to pass a law giving counties the latitude to abolish their elected jury commissioner posts.

The justices issued a per curiam order upholding a July decision by the Commonwealth Court finding that the state legislature was acting within its rights under the Pennsylvania Constitution when it amended the same jury commissioner system it had originally created.
