Senate GOP Leader Floats Bill To Block EPA Plant Rules

Law360, New York (September 18, 2013, 3:00 PM EDT) -- With the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's revised rule capping greenhouse gas emissions for new power plants due this Friday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., introduced a bill Tuesday that would bar the agency from imposing carbon emissions limits on new and existing power plants.

The Save Coal Jobs Act of 2013, which would require Congress' authorization before the EPA could impose any carbon pollution rules, counters President Barack Obama's proposed emission standards key to his climate change action plan unveiled in June.
