EU, Singapore Finalize Free Trade Pact

Law360, New York (September 20, 2013, 3:37 PM EDT) -- The European Union and Singapore on Friday reached agreement on a comprehensive free trade agreement, a deal that the EU said it hopes will open the door to a broader trading pact with other Southeast Asian countries.

The agreement eliminates nearly all tariffs between Singapore and the EU and does away with numerous technical barriers to trade between the two. European officials estimate that the agreement will boost trading between Singapore and Europe by billions of dollars over the coming decade.
