8 Arrested In UK Over £1.3M Barclays Cyber Theft

Law360, New York (September 20, 2013, 12:27 PM EDT) -- Eight men have been arrested for allegedly taking control of the computer system at a branch of a Barclays Bank to steal £1.3 million ($2.1 million), the London Metropolitan Police announced Friday.

The police said that searches at various addresses connected to the suspects have yielded cash, jewelry, drugs, thousands of credit cards and personal data. Police believe they have located a control center in central London where the operation was run from.
