Iberdrola Gets NM's Thumbs-Up For Wind Farm Project

Law360, New York (September 20, 2013, 5:01 PM EDT) -- New Mexico's State Land Office has approved a proposal for a 1,000-megawatt wind energy project in Torrance County to be developed by Oregon-based Iberdrola Renewables LLC, the agency announced Thursday.

The project, known as El Cabo, will cover 33,600 acres and supply electricity for up to 400,000 homes, according to State Land Commissioner Ray Powell, who approved the project in connection with a strategy to bolster renewable energy leasing in the state.
