Acacia Adds Patent Portfolio, Eyes Two Dozen More

Law360, New York (December 12, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- Patent holding firm Acacia Research Corp. is continuing to diversify its technology assets with the acquisition Monday of a new software patent portfolio. The move expands significantly the number of potential licensees and defendants that will likely face Acacia in settlement talks or go to court.

The company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Acacia Patent Acquisition Corp., bought the portfolio for technology that monitors and diagnoses computer information.
