Garmin, Others Accused Of Violating Navigation Patents

Law360, New York (September 24, 2013, 5:45 PM EDT) -- Garmin Ltd., Raymarine Inc. and Navico Inc. are violating U.S. trade laws by importing GPS devices and other products used for navigation that violate Furuno Electric Co. Ltd. patents, according to a complaint Furuno filed Friday in the U.S. International Trade Commission.

Furuno Electric, which filed related lawsuits in Oregon, is requesting the ITC investigate its claims that the accused companies are shipping mapping and display systems, radar systems and related software that infringe its patented navigation technology.
