Traffic Tech Co. Wins $5M In Signal-Control Patent Row

Law360, New York (September 25, 2013, 1:55 PM EDT) -- A Minnesota federal jury has awarded Global Traffic Technologies LLC $5 million, finding that STC Inc., KM Enterprises Inc. and its founder infringed a patent covering traffic-light control technology that allows first responders to more easily navigate streets when responding to an emergency.

The jury delivered the verdict Friday, finding GTT had shown by clear and convincing evidence that STC, KM and company founder Rodney “Kris” Morgan willfully infringed the patent-in-suit through the sale of the defendants' Emtrac priority control system.
