Feds Can't Nix Transsexual Ex-IRS Agent's Sex Bias Suit

Law360, New York (September 25, 2013, 3:49 PM EDT) -- A Baltimore federal judge refused Monday to throw out a sex discrimination and retaliation suit brought against Secretary of the Treasury Jack Lew by a transsexual ex-Internal Revenue Service agent who claimed she was fired after failing to conform to expected gender norms.

U.S. District Judge Ellen Hollander partially granted a motion to dismiss a Title VII case filed by male-to-female transsexual Sydney Hart, who began working at the IRS in 2006 and lodged a string of workplace complaints before being terminated in 2011.
