ITC Judge Rules For SMC In Patent Infringement Claim

Law360, New York (February 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A Japanese maker of pneumatic devices has prevailed against patent infringement allegations in a case argued before the U.S. International Trade Commission.

Administrative Law Judge Carl Charneski ruled Feb. 13 that SMC Corporation and SMC Corporation of America did not infringe a patent owned by Norgren Inc., a maker of motion- and fluid-control technologies.

The case involves connecting devices produced by SMC for use in the compressed air and pneumatics industry and imported into the U.S.
