CFTC Ends 5-Year Silver Manipulation Probe Without Suit

Law360, New York (September 25, 2013, 3:49 PM EDT) -- After a five-year investigation, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Wednesday announced that it would not recommend any charges related to complaints of market manipulation in the silver industry.

The massive investigation came after the commission received an array of complaints about silver prices, alleging that silver futures contracts traded on the Commodity Exchange were being manipulated.
