More Time To Take Advantage Of USPTO's After-Final Pilot

Law360, New York (September 25, 2013, 6:27 PM EDT) -- In the past several years, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has initiated a number of programs that could lead to sooner final disposition of certain patent applications. One of the programs is the After Final Consideration Pilot 2.0, which was scheduled to last until Sept. 30, 2013. The USPTO has just announced that the AFCP 2.0 is extended to Dec. 14, 2013 (http://www.uspto.gov/patents/init_events/afcp.jsp). It would be advisable to take advantage of the AFCP 2.0 in the appropriate cases by requesting for participation no later than Dec. 14, 2013, in the event that the AFCP 2.0 would not be further extended....
