BSEE Extends Comment Period For New Offshore Safety Regs

Law360, New York (September 26, 2013, 2:10 PM EDT) -- The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement on Thursday added 45 days to the comment period for its proposed rule, which will overhaul 25-year-old safety standards for offshore oil and gas production systems, after receiving industry complaints that the original deadline was too soon.

In a notice filed with the Federal Register and scheduled to be published Friday, the BSEE gave commenters until Dec. 5 to respond to the proposed rule. The original deadline was Oct. 21.
