Ark. Wins CMS Approval For Private Health Exchange

Law360, New York (September 27, 2013, 4:28 PM EDT) -- The federal government on Friday announced approval of a deal that will allow the state of Arkansas to use Medicaid dollars to set up a private health exchange, granting the state relief from having to expand its existing public program under the Affordable Care Act.

The Center for Medicare are Medicaid Services sent a letter to Andy Allison, director of Arkansas' Department of Health and Human Services, saying it has approved the state's request to implement the "private option" approved by the legislature earlier this year....
