WTO Panel Will Examine US Changes To Meat Labeling Rules

Law360, New York (September 27, 2013, 7:19 PM EDT) -- The World Trade Organization said Wednesday that a dispute settlement panel would determine whether the U.S. has complied with an earlier ruling that found the country's meat labeling requirements treated foreign producers unfairly.

Following a meeting Wednesday of the WTO Dispute Settlement Body, the organization said it had granted requests from Canada and Mexico to establish a panel that would consider compliance issues in a dispute over the U.S. country-of-origin meat labeling rules.
