Texas High Court Rejects Attack On Lawyer Discipline Rules

Law360, New York (September 27, 2013, 5:11 PM EDT) -- The Texas Supreme Court on Friday refused to hear a suspended Houston attorney's lawsuit attacking the state's procedural rules in attorney disciplinary proceedings.

The Supreme Court, without providing any reasoning, dismissed Kristin Wilkinson's direct appeal claiming the state's disciplinary procedural statutes for lawyers are unconstitutional because they require lawyers to respond to disciplinary complaints that have vague factual allegations, before they have actual notice of the violations that will be alleged against them.
