Alstom, GDF Suez Bid For French Hydropower Project

Law360, New York (September 30, 2013, 1:57 PM EDT) -- French engineering firm Alstom SA and energy giant GDF Suez SA are preparing to bid on a pilot hydropower program by France's government, proposing a tidal farm project in lower Normandy, Alstom announced Monday.

The French firms have selected a site near Cherbourg, a port city in Normandy that lies on the English Channel, for their project. France's president, Francois Hollande, launched the production tender at a ceremony in Cherbourg on Monday.
