CB&I Launches Venture To Build Nuclear Plants In China

Law360, New York (October 1, 2013, 3:05 PM EDT) -- Engineering company Chicago Bridge & Iron Co. will form a joint venture with state-owned China Power Investment Corp. to build nuclear power plants in China, the companies announced Tuesday.

China Power subsidiary CPI Power Engineering Co. Ltd. is already working with CB&I on two unfinished nuclear plants in Shandong Province and will represent its parent company in the joint venture.

The companies expect China to approve 30 nuclear plants by 2020 to power the country's growth.
