Infrastructure Funds Targeting Aggregate $97B, Preqin Says

Law360, New York (October 1, 2013, 1:23 PM EDT) -- The capital sought by private infrastructure fund managers has reached an all-time high in 2013, with 145 different funds on the market seeking an aggregate $97 billion in capital commitments, private equity fund industry consultant Preqin Ltd. said Tuesday.

More than half of the infrastructure funds on the market have already held an interim close, an indication of strong investor demand in the sector, Preqin said. The market has picked up since January, when infrastructure fund managers were seeking roughly $85 billion in capital.
