Liberty Interactive Invests $300M In $2B Abengoa Solar Plant

Law360, New York (October 2, 2013, 2:23 PM EDT) -- Spanish power plant developer Abengoa SA has secured a $300 million project financing commitment for its $2 billion U.S. thermal energy storage plant from the venture capital arm of Liberty Interactive Corp. in exchange for a minority stake in the project, Abengoa said Wednesday.

Liberty Interactive, a Colorado-based media and telecommunications conglomerate controlled by John C. Malone, will become a minority investor in Solana, a 280-megawatt solar development in Arizona.
