NC Scrutiny Of Dental Practice Management Continues

Law360, New York (October 4, 2013, 9:20 AM EDT) -- In the most recent example of increased scrutiny of the dental practice management business (“DPM”) in North Carolina, the State Board of Dental Examiners filed a lawsuit against Dentalcare Partners Inc., Dental One Inc., DCP Equity Partners LLC and the individual dentists and their associated practices affiliated with Dental One. Dental One operates more than 160 practices in 14 states, including 27 separate dental practices in North Carolina, including several DentalWorks locations.

The board is seeking an injunction against the defendants prohibiting the unlicensed practice of dentistry by Dental One and preventing Dental One from enforcing certain provisions of its management...
