NH Appeals Set-Aside Of Record $236M Exxon MTBE Verdict

Law360, New York (October 3, 2013, 7:27 PM EDT) -- New Hampshire has mounted a bid in the state's high court to keep the lion's share of a $236 million groundwater pollution verdict against Exxon Mobil Corp. in the hands of state legislators and out of a sequestered trust, according to a Thursday report.

Exxon was found liable in April for pollution linked to the controversial gasoline additive methyl tertiary-butyl ether, known as MTBE, by a state jury after a three-month trial and ordered to pay the record verdict.
