Dominion Gets DOJ Antitrust OK For Offshore Wind Lease

Law360, New York (October 9, 2013, 6:18 PM EDT) -- Dominion Resources Inc. unit Dominion Virginia Power said Wednesday that the U.S. Department of Justice has given the antitrust thumbs-up to the utility's winning $1.6 million bid for nearly 113,000 acres in offshore Virginia for wind power development.

Dominion Virginia beat out one other bidder, Apex Virginia Offshore Wind LLC, in the nation's second competitive wind energy auction last month run by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management. The bid was subject to antitrust review by the DOJ and the Federal Trade Commission.
