CFPB To Pull Enforcement Attys From On-Site Tests

Law360, New York (October 10, 2013, 1:20 PM EDT) -- The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau will no longer have enforcement attorneys physically present at banks and financial institutions during the agency’s compliance examinations, an agency spokeswoman confirmed Thursday.

The agency, which announced the move to its staff this week, cited efficiency as the reason for the move that will now keep its roughly 100 enforcement attorneys working “offsite” on the investigations rather than at the premises of banks and other institutions it monitors, according to a statement.
