Ex-Fla. Health Dept. Worker Says Top Attys Sank Drug Probes

Law360, New York (October 10, 2013, 6:53 PM EDT) -- A former Florida Department of Health investigator lodged a retaliation suit Tuesday alleging he was shown the door after blowing the whistle on ethical violations by agency prosecutors that hindered probes into prescription drug trafficking, insurance fraud and other medical malfeasance.

Christopher Knox, a onetime DOH malpractice investigator, says he was fired in March after several run-ins with top agency lawyers he said were obstructing investigations into unlicensed medical practitioners, prescription drug dispensaries and health plan overbilling, among other criminal enterprises.
