Canadian Appeals Court Upholds Assisted-Suicide Ban

Law360, New York (October 11, 2013, 2:33 PM EDT) -- A Canadian appeals court on Thursday reversed a lower court’s ruling against the nation’s outright ban on assisted suicide, even for patients suffering from painful terminal illnesses with no chance of improvement, and cited the nation’s 20-year-old Supreme Court ruling that had preserved the ban.
