Judge Won't Toss Obstruction Case Against Ex-BP Engineer

Law360, New York (October 11, 2013, 7:32 PM EDT) -- A federal judge on Thursday refused to toss charges against a former BP PLC engineer accused of deleting text messages to obstruct a government investigation into the Deepwater Horizon spill.

U.S. District Judge Stanwood R. Duval Jr. said an obstruction of justice indictment against Kurt E. Mix is sufficient for the case against him to go to trial.
