Pa. Lawmaker Slams Return Of Voter ID Ads

Law360, Philadelphia (October 11, 2013, 1:11 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania state legislator on Thursday asked state officials to stop running “confusing” advertisements over voter identification details for the upcoming November election, noting the state’s law requiring identification is currently on hold while a court reviews its constitutionality.

In a letter, Sen. Matt Smith, D-Washington/Allegheny, asked Secretary of the Commonwealth Carol Aichele to halt the radio, television and Internet ads, warning that they mislead individuals into thinking they must show ID to vote.
