NM High Court Upholds Heightened Clean Water Standards

Law360, New York (October 11, 2013, 2:37 PM EDT) -- The New Mexico Supreme Court has shot down a beef industry group's challenge to state clean water rules by ruling that it was a mistake to take up the issue, earning praise from conservation groups Wednesday for keeping protections in place for nearly 1.4 million acres of land.

The justices declined to decide the merits of the dispute, instead issuing an order five days after hearing oral arguments finding that it should have never granted the New Mexico Cattle Growers' Association's petition to hear the case....
