Deals Rumor Mill: KKR, Versace, Glencore

By Jake Simpson (October 11, 2013, 4:56 PM EDT) -- KKR & Co. LP will shell out roughly $150 million for a 30 percent stake in India's Gland Pharmacy Ltd., sources told Reuters on Friday. The deal will likely become official in the coming weeks. The Indian drugmaker operates in the injectable medicine market. If a deal is completed, it would be KKR's eighth investment in the Asia-Pacific region thus far in 2013. KKR announced Thursday that it had bought a 642 million ringgit ($200 million) stake in Malaysian helicopter company Weststar Aviation Services Sdn Bhd. And in July, the New York-based private equity firm closed on a record $6 billion in capital for its Asian II Fund, the largest pan-Asian private equity fund ever raised....
