Siemens-Led Group Wins €370M Maltese Power Project Bid

Law360, Washington (October 15, 2013, 2:58 PM EDT) -- A consortium led by a Siemens AG unit has been selected by Maltese state power utility Enemalta Corp. for a €370 million ($499 million) natural gas power plant conversion and construction project, consortium member Gasol PLC announced Monday.

Under the terms of the deal, ultimately meant to lower Malta's energy costs, the Electrogas Malta consortium will construct and operate a new 200-megawatt power plant and convert Enemalta's existing 149-megawatt plant to operate on natural gas, Gasol said.
