IMF, World Bank Call For WTO Trade Facilitation Deal

Law360, New York (October 15, 2013, 5:10 PM EDT) -- The World Bank Group, International Monetary Fund and several regional development banks on Sunday called for the World Trade Organization countries to reach an agreement on trade facilitation measures, saying such a deal could be a boon for the world's least-developed economies.

The World Bank, IMF and others said in a joint statement that a WTO ministerial conference scheduled for December in Bali, Indonesia, presents a chance for the trade organization's members to reach a deal that would “deliver tangible economic benefits” for developing countries. WTO...
