Pa. Coal Mine Co. Challenges Runoff Limitations

Law360, Philadelphia (October 17, 2013, 5:23 PM EDT) -- Rosebud Mining Co. on Monday challenged limits placed by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection on runoff from a underground coal mine in Indiana County, arguing that they exceed what is required by law.

The appeal of the DEP permit for the Coral-Graceton Mine marks the seventh time this year that Rosebud, a family-owned Pennsylvania corporation, has gone to the state’s Environmental Hearing Board over limits on wastewater discharges.
