Sen. Targets EPA Supervisor Over Ex-Employee's Fraud

Law360, New York (October 16, 2013, 7:34 PM EDT) -- Sen. David Vitter, R-La., demanded Wednesday that a retired U.S. Environmental Protection Agency official hand over more information about the supervision of a former senior employee who has admitted to stealing nearly $900,000 in government funds while posing as a secret agent.

Continuing an investigation of EPA policies that potentially enabled the former deputy assistant administrator John C. Beale's fraud, Vitter asked the disgraced official's one-time boss Robert Brenner about Beale's prolonged absences and claims that he worked on a CIA task force.
