BlackBerry Maker Cheers USPTO Snub Of Patent Foe

Law360, New York (December 19, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- Blackberry maker Research In Motion Ltd. has reason to celebrate after the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office rejected claims within yet another patent being asserted by patent holding company NTP Inc.

The USPTO has already rejected upon reexamination two NTP patents in the bitterly fought case, which began in November 2001 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
