Law360, New York (October 18, 2013, 11:34 AM EDT) -- Although the Federal Circuit has had exclusive appellate jurisdiction over patent matters since 1982, some commentators remain critical of the court’s monopoly over this area of the law. During a recent speech at the Chicago-Kent College of Law, the Honorable Judge Diane P. Wood of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit called for an end to the Federal Circuit’s exclusive jurisdiction over patent appeals.
