Aeropostale, Others Said To Infringe Online Store Patents

Law360, New York (October 17, 2013, 2:52 PM EDT) -- Aeropostale Inc., American Apparel Inc. and CafePress Inc. were hit with separate suits in Delaware federal court on Wednesday from a patent holding company alleging that features of the retailers' online stores and order tracking systems infringed multiple patents.

Eclipse IP LLC sought enhanced damages from the three retailers, saying it sent letters to each notifying them about its four patents, which among other things cover systems and methods that provide email notifications to shoppers after they make purchases online, but the companies continued their allegedly...
