UK Watchdog Blocks Hospital Merger

Law360, New York (October 17, 2013, 2:28 PM EDT) -- The U.K. Competition Commission on Thursday nixed the proposed merger between two hospitals in southwest England, saying there is not enough evidence that it would result in overall benefits for local patients.

The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust both provide a broad range of health care services to patients in the county of Dorset.
