Fed Set To Unveil Key Bank Liquidity Proposals Next Week

Law360, New York (October 17, 2013, 5:01 PM EDT) -- The Federal Reserve on Thursday said it would release its hotly anticipated bank liquidity proposals, which govern the assets that a bank must have on hand to survive a short-term funding crisis, during an open meeting next week.

The liquidity proposals are a key plank of the Basel III international banking accords. The Fed will be the first of the U.S. banking regulators to release implementing rules for American banks at its Oct. 24 open meeting.
