Omaha Utility Inks Deal For 400 MW From Neb. Wind Farm

Law360, New York (October 18, 2013, 2:12 PM EDT) -- The board of directors of the Omaha Public Power District, one of the largest U.S. public utilities, has approved a 20-year power purchase agreement to buy up to 400 megawatts of wind energy capacity from a planned wind farm in Nebraska, the OPPD announced Thursday.

The utility will purchase the wind-generated electricity from the Grande Prairie Wind Farm, a renewable energy project being developed by Geronimo Energy, a Minnesota-based developer of U.S. wind and solar power facilities. The agreement is the largest in the OPPD's history...
