Minimum Wage Increases For Foreign Guest Workers

Law360, New York (February 26, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Labor said Tuesday that the 2008 minimum wage for agricultural guest workers would range from $8.41 to $10.86 an hour, depending on the state.

This is up from a range of $8.01 to $10.32 an hour in 2007.

By law, employers must pay their temporary or seasonal nonimmigrant foreign workers the prevailing wage in their area of employment so as not to drive down the wages of similarly employed U.S. workers.
