US Extends Duty-Free Beef Deal With EU

Law360, New York (October 21, 2013, 7:06 PM EDT) -- The U.S. and European Union have extended for two years an agreement that allows certain high-quality beef to be exported from the U.S. to Europe without duties, the U.S. Trade Representative's office said Monday.

The U.S. ambassador to the World Trade Organization, Michael Punke, met with European officials on Monday in Geneva, Switzerland, to sign an extension of an agreement that has been in place since 2009 and has increased U.S. beef producers' access to a segment of the European market.
