Jury Finds Wyeth Culpable In Hormone Lawsuit

Law360, New York (February 26, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal jury has ordered Wyeth Pharmaceuticals Inc. to hand over $2.75 million to an Arkansas woman who accused the drugmaker of failing to warn of the increased cancer risk associated with its hormone replacement therapy.

The verdict, handed down Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas, is the fourth against Wyeth since trials over the controversial menopause drugs, Prempro and Premarin, began in 2006.
