E.ON Backs Out Of British Biomass Reactor Project

Law360, New York (October 22, 2013, 4:31 PM EDT) -- German utility giant E.ON canceled plans to build a 150-megawatt biomass reactor in England's Portbury Dock, saying that it's not a priority for the company at the moment, according to a Tuesday statement.

The plant, which was supposed to be able to power 160,000 homes by burning wood and other energy crops, was supposed to take advantage of England's biomass power subsidies.
