Estover Energy Gets Nod For $105M Wood-Fueled Power Plant

Law360, New York (October 22, 2013, 5:24 PM EDT) -- Renewable energy company Estover Energy Ltd. scored government approval to develop a biomass plant that converts wood into heat and power in southeast England, a £65 million ($105 million) project that pushes the United Kingdom closer to achieving its national sustainable energy goal, the company announced Monday.

The plant is expected to generate between 11 and 15 megawatts of power and between 8 and 12 megawatts of heat — the equivalent of supplying 21,000 homes with power — for the science and technology complex known as Discovery Park...
