NLRB Eyes Rule To Speed Union Election Process

Law360, New York (February 26, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The National Labor Relations Board has proposed a new procedure for employers and employees to consent to union elections, which it hopes will improve a process unions have criticized as unfair and sometimes biased.

Under the proposed rule, published Tuesday in the Federal Register, unions and employers that have agreed to all the conditions of an election on union representation could petition the NLRB for an election to be held within 28 days of the petition.
