ADB Grants $250M Loan For Bangladesh Water Project

Law360, New York (October 23, 2013, 5:03 PM EDT) -- The Asian Development Bank is putting $250 million toward improving the water supply of Bangladesh's capital city Dhaka, the bank announced Wednesday.

The fast-growing Dhaka has 11 million residents, many of whom aren't fully hooked up to infrastructure and can't get the clean water they need, according to the ADB. Underground levels are dropping while surface water is polluted from the same rapid expansion that consumes it, the bank said.
