Colo. Land Sale To Jolt Utility-Scale Solar Projects

Law360, New York (October 23, 2013, 6:18 PM EDT) -- The Bureau of Land Management will auction 3,705 acres of public land spanning two Colorado counties Thursday for the development of large-scale commercial solar energy, as part of the Obama administration's strategy to encourage renewable energy development and decrease carbon emissions.

The auction marks the government's first competitive auction for public lands to be used for solar energy production, according to the agency.
